Not long ago, there was a time – when someone had to call your house, let it ring and hope you were home. If not they left a message on an answering machine and waited. Today we carry a talisman that demands our attention hundreds of times a day.
Technology is no longer neutral, it shapes our consciousness, manipulates your dopamine cycles, rewires your nervous system, skews your perception of reality & subtly alters the frequency that you live in. Our consciousness is ripped from our body into a digital black void that leaves the spirit unfed and the nervous system overstimulated.
Convenience is the spell that bound us. Like the biblical apple in Adam & Eve, they took a bite and descended from the garden into density and chaos. We too, shifted from presence into distraction. The bite of the Apple logo sits on the back of most phones as a permanent reminder : we traded awareness for accessibility.
Convenience, connection and consumption – these were sold as freedom. Instead they became our shackles. Every swipe is a vote towards embracing your weakest self. Overstimulation pushes the spirit into silence – when the mind is overloaded you cannot hear spirit calling.
Our devices have become portals – and most people have no idea who or what is walking through them. We live in a world were convenience has enslaved consciousness, constant connection has eroded focus & endless consumption leads us overwhelmed while we watch life pass us by.
I invite you on this journey into understanding how technology become spiritual warfare and it starts with your focus, in your pockets and on your screens.
Convenience, Connection & Consumption – The Three Digital Shackles
I spent 10+ years of my life as the happiest and hardest working person I’ve ever met. I still love to wake up in the AM and get to work 8 hours before anyone else here’s an alarm calling. More and more I find it harder to focus. Over time my studio has become full of books, music, devices which have consumed my attention. Our homes have literally become home cinemas, we have every form of entertainment imaginable at our fingertips. All this pleasure has come bundled with pain. Distractions are great but we have to face reality at some point.
Connection has become draining instead of nourishing
We live in an era where connection has become expectation. If you don’t answer instantly, someone is already worried, judging and disappointed. For a psychic like me, I don’t need to hear a phone ringing, I feel the person the moment they think of me, which creates a while new burden in the era of connection.
I don’t just pick up on this persons desire to contact me, I also feel their state of mind, the feelings that they’ve hidden in the depth of their soul. So I feel other peoples stresses, doubts and fears simply through psychic connection no matter where this person is in the world.
We’re expected to respond quicker than ever, notified endlessly and bound by the shackles created by a new perception of connection. The world is changing fast but we as humans are yet to match the pace of ever changing technology.
This constant connection has become a burden on society, last month from the comfort of my bed I watched an innocent girl stabbed on a bus & a political figure shot in the neck with a sniper. – These are things 99% of humanity would never witness in their entire lifetime, yet we’re exposed to trauma before getting the chance to brush our teeth.
In the attention economy, negative media sells. It’s a constant reminder of the evil that lurks in dark corners of the world. Media just tricks us into thinking every world problem is our problem. We become addicted to the spikes of cortisol as it fuels our spiral into anxiety.
Overconsumption as spiritual blockage
Social media adopted the idea of the endless feed. I don’t know about you but when I want feeding endlessly I will go to an all you can eat. Thats once a year or so, imagine how fat I’d be if it was a daily occurrence, like all you little piggies gorging on social feed all day long.
When you are clear on your purpose, projects and personal power to manifest the life you desire, then evil has to attack you at the will. You may be 100% mentally focused on your goals, so the only way evil can access your reality is by breaking that pattern, what better way than to train your body to reach for a distraction device hundreds of times a day.
I recently read an article mentioning some people reach for their phone 3000 times a day. Overconsumption has nulled our intuition. The mind can only have one thought at a time, so if your stuffing content down your neck then there’s no space left for spirit to call. If spirit can’t call then say goodbye to divine inspiration and creative insights.
Too much input blocks divine insight – Spirit doesn’t shout it whispers..
Convenience as a dopamine trap
Endless hoards of information coming in from all angles left me taking screenshots, photos, notes, and storing other unimportant information. I spent years of my life taking photos of meals, tracking calories, macros and body fat. This is classed as an eating disorder. The funny thing is, the moment I stopped tracking and obsessing about numbers I became my ideal weight naturally by eating real foods and listening to my body.
But hey, I’m not perfect – I just bought 6 minced pies because of all the bright colours, bold lettering and advertising I have to endure when I do food shopping online. If I was in the shop, I would avoid 10 isles of junk food then at the end of my shop, I’d have such low willpower from resisting tons of advertising on every isle that I would then buy some junk food as a reward for avoiding so much junk food – the irony.
So when willpower is depleted due to things like resisting advertising or the junk food in your cupboard. We look for rewards and quick hits of dopamine for a quick fix. This is when we fall prey to instant gratification. Psychologists have known for decades that intermittent rewards are the most addictive form of conditioning.
Every minute spent scrolling is a vote against patience, ritual and discipline. By scrolling or jumping to our phone for dopamine we teach the nervous system to seek fast, easy and frictionless experiences. We have been imprisoned by comfort.
Is convenience really enslaving us spiritually?
Yes – convenience trains the mind to avoid stillness, weakening intuition and creating dependancy on external stimulation instead of inner guidance.
The Attention Economy & The Cost Of Dopamine Addiction
Every tech giants service we consume on a regular basis has undergone billions of investment into gambling economics. To understand how to make their services as addictive as possible. Every notification is designed to spike dopamine or cortisol, every scroll akin to another hit of the slot machines. This builds compulsive checking disorder.
Does phone use actually rewire the brains focus?
Yes – constant notifications and scrolling hit the dopamine system so frequently that your attention span erodes, making deep thought and spiritual awareness harder to access.
Where your attention goes, energy flows
You’re consciousness creates your psychic protection, we have to treat our minds like the sacred temple they are. Giving your attention away is giving away your power and weakening your psychic boundaries.
In the book Deep Work by Cal Newport he talks about attention residue and by giving attention away prevents us from regaining the full potential of that focus back. For example, if you start your day with social media, when you go to your big project, you’ve already fired and wired certain neurone with social media. These don’t just switch off or divert as you would expect. These are ‘on-signals’ within the mind, trying to remind you that you opened pandora’s box and returning to it is rewarding.
Multi-tasking splits your consciousness into fragments
The book The One Thing By Gary Keller quotes on the opening pages “Chase two rabbits, catch none” – Its reasons like this why mystics often create energy rituals along the lines of “I call back all my power and energy from all places, people and things that have taken it consciously or unconsciously” – Because energy is consciousness and consciousness is energy.
A Tapped-in nervous system
Stimulation is the opposite of relaxation. You cannot sleep in the same room as a device that holds the answers to everything you’d ever like to know. When I was a child if I didn’t know something I would sit and ponder on it for days, weeks or years, now I can get the answer to anything quicker than the kettle boils. My curiosity has grown stronger than my will to resist, and we all know about curiosity so called killing the cat.
One device suddenly became everything right before our very eyes, then it multiplied into different sizes. It fits in a pocket, can fill up a TV stand, it can even fit on your wrist. My childlike mind wouldn’t have been able to comprehend the magnificence you speak of today and now that inner child has been conditioned to sleep with it. – “Track your toss and turns by putting this radiation device below your pillow sir”
The Emotional & Spiritual Fallout Of Overuse
When tech dominates the soul, your CCTV notifications become anticipation of a burglary. Market watching creates financial anxiety, and notifications trigger fight or flight. These become constant triggers that create loops of anxiety, everything becomes an attack on your peace of mind.
We have trained ourself to have shorter and shorter attention spans, allowed our mind to be contorted and twisted and we label the symptoms ADHD instead of pointing the finger at the portals we open every single day when you take your first scroll of the day.
Kids today have been raised on overstimulation. I read somewhere recently that kids are expected to have dementia in their 30’s now due to the amount of screen time, dopamine depletion and neurological impacts. I don’t know about you but that is a little frightening at the least.
Can excessive screen time lower your vibration?
Absolutely – emotional overstimulation, anxiety and fragmented thoughts distort the energetic field, making it harder for the soul to communicate through intuition.
The Great Split – Tech Humans Vs Spirit
I think it’s obvious to foresee that we as society will split, some engrossing themselves with as much technology as possible, spending more time in virtual reality, and connected in more ways than ever before. Implanting social media feeds into the brain so you can scroll without your hands. Technology is not the enemy, unconscious use is.
The tech enslaved humans will be distracted, anxious and overstimulated so much to the point that they would pay to take the stimulation away. They will beg for silence from the advertising, from the desire to buy and the overconsumption of shallow media. Their identities will be tied to notifications, living through the screen not the human senses.
The rebellion will be spiritual seekers of truth, mystics and psychics who will refuse to tarnish their connection to spirit, source or god. Strong boundaries and a stronger intuition. These will be the creators of the next reality, because refusing to consume leads to the spark of creation.
This separation of tech vs spirit will also separate authentic creation and artificial creation. We will shift from the attention economy to a resonance economy. Where people will seek out people who speak from spirit, because as KRS1 says “When spirit speaks, man, woman and nature all stop to listen” – Because we all crave spirit, were all seeking a connection, so we listen to those who have access and can guide the way.
Are we becoming spiritually disconnected by relying on technology?
Yes – The more we outsource attention, memory, and presence to devices, the further we drift from the inner self, creative a divide between tech-reliant humans and spiritually awakened ones.
Practical Solutions To Reclaim Your Mind
Here are a few strategies I followed that helped forge my resistance to a world that preys on stealing attention for profit. These solutions will help you improve focus, create space for spiritual practices while digital detoxing made simple.
Can reducing tech actually restore clarity?
Yes – Batching notifications, limiting screen exposure and separating tech from your spiritual life rebuilds your focus, intuition, and emotional grounding.
Get Real About Your Digital Habit
The thing that always kickstarts change is our perception. Once you get really honest with yourself about the weight of the problem. How simple scrolling is stealing you away from your purpose – will you look back at 80 and recall how much time you spent scrolling endless feeds?
if you haven’t already just start making bullet points as reminders of all the reasons you should attempt to resist and reclaim your attention. Like Benjamin Franklin list the pro’s and con’s of your usage & see if the benefits outweigh the costs.
Separate Your Working Life & Play
Every device has its own spirit, mixing their use and needs is mixing up the energy. This leads to scrolling instead of working, reaching for your device the brain will automatically revert to what gives it the most of a buzz in your dopamine centres. So if you use your phone for business and social media, without knowing you’ll likely end up spending time on the wrong activities.
My phone and all my contacts are now on my iPad, which I can’t fit in a pocket, I cant take out of the house, following the Laws of James Clear in Atomic habits – Create friction to stop bad habits. I’m signed out of anything that has an endless feed because I don’t have endless time for endless distractions. I have a purpose and my willpower to resist temptation is what helps that reality manifest.
Dopamine Neutralising With Black & White Mode
Removing colour reduces cravings as it removes stimulus by blocking visual reward cues. Imagine someone taking the beauty of every plants and putting that awe inspiring range of colours on one screen, cluttered with apps that want to pull you into their void.
Apps should be functional, not addictive. When I did use a phone in bed I changed my black and white mode to red so that the white light wouldn’t wake me up. The red screen mimics the sunsetting and signals the body to rest.
The Dopamine Box For Working
A dopamine box is something I developed for curing addiction, but I’m going to use it differently for this topic. When I was a teenager, teachers would confiscate our phones into a box so they couldn’t disrupt the lessons. Shouldn’t we treat them the same way within our homes, relationships and work environments?
Every meal, every project, every conversation should begin with your tech put away in a box, because things deserve our full attention, without that full focus it we can only scratch the surface of what we could become. Put your phone away in a box while you work, this should be common sense by now.
Batching Messages For Mental Health
I trained friends and family over months that I no longer am bound by a phone, I will respond as and when it works for me at the end of my work day. I will not start conversations that lead on through my day. I do not answer any unsolicited phone calls.
My FOCUS is my currency and to create something great I must dedicate 100% of my mind, body and spirit to that one thing, there is no exceptions. I bet Beethoven didn’t multitask when he wrote his symphonies.
I am a creative by trade, I know exactly how creativity works as I wrote 200 songs in one year & produced well over 100 in a few years so believe me when I say it took my complete focus and the pursuit of that goal was in no way benefited by social media or phone use.
Signing Out – The Return to Silence
I think in the future the mystics who guide this world, the Oracle’s who crack the Matrix, the Gandalf’s who lead the hobbits against evil & The Jung’s, Einsteins, & Christ of tomorrow will be logged out and disconnected by default.
Greatness comes when you create space, you cannot save a tiny fragment of your conscious energy for divine insight. If you truly want to do gods work & receive his full guidance and assistance then you create the space to allow him in. As Jesus teaches – we go within to find god.
Why is silence so important in the digital age?
Because silence recalibrates the nervous system and opens subtle channels where intuition, creativity and higher guidance naturally flow.
Sit in silence with your thoughts.
Let the feelings rise and fall.
Learn the lesson, let it go.
Only then will you hear
The calling from
Your soul
-Raa
PS – Don’t listen to me
I’m a hermit. I have a strong 4, 8 & 12th houses with a grand water trine. Meaning I’m so psychic to the point Id rather be alone in a cave in the mountains for the entirety of my existence reading ancient lore and using my consciousness to explore reality. – “Your a wizard, Harry” kinda stuff. You’re probably not into all that so you can just keep on scroll-in.
Thank you for listening – if you did make it this far please let me know in the comments it motivates me to keep on rambling.
