What Is Mental Alchemy?

Alchemy is symbolic – It is a transmutation of energy, where matter switches forms. A magician turns lead (pains, fears, baggage) into gold (Power, Purpose) instead of hiding it in shame – we use it to shine. We share the deepest and darkest moments because we were transformed through them, allowing that energy to shine on, radiating a message of inspiration. You become the beacon and the way.

Unhealed trauma is a big cause of negative thought patterns. Trauma gets trapped in the cells of the body, its best healed with awareness or somatic movements. We can heal indirectly rather than dealing with the actual cause, which the puts you in the best position to deal with the issue. This energy that gets trapped in the body is trying to re-surface to shift out of the body. If it’s unable to it will do its best to remind you, which is where negative thought loops can come from.

You don’t get to bury your pain an forget about it, the body will remind you. If you ignore the thoughts, you weaken your vibration, call on demonic forces for help & later manifest dis-ease. It’s these buried traumas that keep on resurfacing every time you meditate and cannot clear your mind. Subconscious re-programming becomes easier once we remove this root cause hidden within the body.

Here’s a practical 3 step method for re-writing your negative thought patterns just like an alchemist would.

Breath – The First Transmutation Tool

Breathing resets our nervous system, it can help reduce anxiety and remove energetic blockages. Breath is life, it is energy & it’s my favourite way of moving energy because if your alive, you can use your breath to heal.

Simply become aware of your body with the intention of finding hidden tension. When you do it may feel tense, busy, or heavy. Keep your awareness on this point and breath. Try breathing fast, slow, deep or shallow. Experiment and see which way you can shift energy the quickest.

I like breath the best because I can see when it’s happening in others, during reiki, people often huff, puff, fart, and cry. These are all ways we can release energy, I just prefer when they yawn instead of dropping a stinker.

Awareness – The Philosophers Stone Of The Mind

Awareness is one of the most powerful forms of shadow work. What we shine a light on simply dissolves. When you shine your light of awareness on something it has to change, you are directing a new source of energy with the intent of moving out the old blockage.

Awareness breaks our habitual negative patterns. We can observe a thought or a feeling without a reaction, that lack of reaction becomes an action towards a new you. By observing without judgement we are no longer feeding the problem. The problem appears within the mind and then we watch without emotion, this teaches the mind to obverse without reacting.

The non-reaction will eventually become the dominant path that the neurones choose to follow. Problem, awareness and release.

Repetition – The Fire That Turns Thoughts Into Gold

Repetition is the ultimate way to reprogram your mind. We direct the subconscious mind using our conscious thoughts. Which allows the subconscious to send back the right directions and influence us in the way that we chose.

Consider your mind as a pathway in a forest. When you start a new thought you have to carve a new pathway. Initially this path is overcrowded, overgrown and has no visible footpath. Every time we choose the new thought over the old, the new path becomes clearer as we walk through and clear the way. After repeating this the new pathway becomes clear and the old pattern has now become difficult to traverse.

In this example we’ll run with the negative thought loop of “I’m a big fatty”

  1. The thought arises
  2. We can observe the thought without reaction.
    We can refuse the thought “This is not mine”
  3. Breath through the thoughts to move the energy
  4. Create a golden thought (the opposite of your negative statement) a phrase designed to heal (I’m losing weight – I feel great)
  5. Back up the thought with evidence. Find some facts that confirms your new belief. You lost 1lb last week, you look a little better etc.
  6. Repeat this process every time the negative thought occurs until you can turn that pain into power.

A magician learns to think in energy rather than reality, concepts like frequency and thought forms are what occur at an energetic level. (I used to write one song every day on my commute in my 20’s, thats 3 rap verses and chorus, wrote, edited and practiced. The next day I was onto track 2. If I recall my last job I can bask in the proudness that I was the best at the JOB but more so the fact I wrote 200 songs in a year while sitting on a bus instead of complaining)

3.Doubts can be demolished by remembering your successes. Make a list of every win you ever made, list all the things you did that surprised you. keep it running and make it a habit. If for one moment you doubt yourself you can pull up the list of 1000 winning moments & this allows you to bend time, by sitting in your past successes and using those to help with your new goals.
