Want More Books For Your Bucks?
Want more books for your money? 📚 Discover the ultimate reading hack that will expand your library without breaking the bank!
The Cost & The Clutter
I’ve read hundreds of books, often spending 35-40% of my income on books & courses.
I was spending so much on books that I never invested any of my income, I had a bookshelf worth thousands and nothing in a broker’s account.
As a reseller, my house is full of stock, shelves, boxes, clothing, collectables, and books, I’m at the point where having piles of books taking up a room has become a burden.
The space could be used to store another 400 units to sell on my eBay store.
So having piles of books around the house not only affects my ability to scale my business from home, but I’d be working twice as long to create content about them.
Now I’m a big lover of books, but once you’ve read so much you start to finish less and less and focus on the application instead. If you are new to reading you’ll likely focus on the number of books that you read, but as you grow you’ll start to focus on quality, only the best of the best and you’ll finish less and less, leaving you with piles of unworthy books.
The Discounts
Most books won’t even cover the shipping cost if you wanted to resell them online.
On average you get 10 books for £100, 1 in 10 may be a great book.
Or now you can get 100 books for £100, 10 possible great books.
Instead of paying thousands like me, you could get an insane library including most of the best books for way less than £100. All it takes is a few seconds a day.
Here are some images from my kindle library. 98% of these books I paid 99p for.
Now That’s A Lot Of Books
Once a month usually on the first as I get excited, I’ll check the kindle book deals in the non-fiction category, clicking through all 15+ pages. These will usually be on sale for the whole month, I used to buy around 15 at a time, but as time goes on I’m usually grabbing a few from the monthly deals and a few daily deals per month.
I don’t tend to buy physical books now, the only exception is if the books are so amazing that I’d like a physical copy to write in or it’s something that isn’t sold in other formats, such as Charlie Mungers Almanack.
Other Benefits Include
- Easily export all your notes & highlighted passages to a text file, super handy if you are a writer.
- No light to hold in bed, no turning pages, and no tears when you drop a textbook on your face.
- Unfinished books are archived instead of sitting in the corner of a room adding to your feelings of guilt.
- You can take 10 or 10’000 books and notes with you anywhere you go, which can all be accessed from a browser, mobile, tablet, kindle. Reading this way is my new normal, I’m more productive, save more money, and have less clutter.
